  • New Builds

Zoarizons  expertise enables our clients to identify potential issues early, optimise maintenance schedules, and make informed decisions about asset management, ultimately improving the longevity and performance of their Data Centre.

It has been a decade of massive growth for the data centre industry. Data centres are being built across all continents rapidly as a result of a growing adoption of cloud technologies, artificial intelligence, IoT and 5G. There are many types of data centres, ranging from in-house facilities for some of the world’s largest and most influential companies to those built by specialization vendors offering infrastructure services. It is imperative that data centres do not go offline at any cost due to the enormous economic impact it can have. A data centre that supports customer-facing services can also suffer reputational damage, in addition to financial loss.

The task of ensuring uptime has become more challenging as a result of the increasing complexity of data centres.  Overheating is a major concern due to the large amount of mechanical, electrical, and electronic infrastructure under one roof, not only because the infrastructure is not using energy efficiently, as well as causing a complete shutdown of servers, which could affect users around the world and even lead to data or equipment loss due to overheating.

MAINTENANCE INSPECTIONS WITH THERMAL IMAGING CAMERAS

IT operations alone are no longer enough to maintain a data centre today. In addition to keeping the data centres up and running, power distribution and cooling infrastructure play a crucial role in preventing malfunctions and power disruptions.

It is common for systems that are critical to the operation of the data centre to heat up before failure occurs. Infrared thermography (thermal imaging) is an ideal tool for inspecting power consumption, electrical installations, cooling equipment, and computing hardware because temperature is an important indicator of energy consumption and equipment operation.

It has become indispensable to conduct periodic thermal imaging inspections in order to maintain equipment predictively and preventatively.

A thermal camera allows the detection of electrical issues before they become serious failures or downtime, including switchgears, motors, HVAC infrastructure, uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), power distribution units (PDUs), batteries, generators, and all electrical devices that feed server systems.

Since cloud computing has become the norm, and data centres are growing to great sizes, there is an increasing demand for more power efficient and dense computing. It is important for data centre owners to be able to increase their capacity while reducing their energy and cost consumption. By using thermal imaging, they can maximize energy use and space requirements without causing overheating.

By using thermal imaging cameras for routine inspections technicians and data centre staff are able to:

  • Prevent unplanned downtime by finding and fixing hidden problems.
  • By reducing overloaded circuits and loose connections, component degradation can be less likely to go unnoticed.
  • Maintain equipment to prevent breakdowns
  • Manage energy efficiently and allocate space efficiently

Prioritising Your Data Security

Zoarizon is driven by the relentless pursuit of making complex technology accessible to everyone. This commitment is especially evident in our efforts to assist commercial, civil, and government users worldwide in finding innovative applications, thereby adding value across a wide range of industries. From agriculture and construction to public safety and infrastructure inspection, Zoarizons cutting-edge drone solutions empower users to achieve new levels of efficiency, precision, and safety. By simplifying advanced technology, we enable our clients to harness its full potential, driving progress and innovation in their respective fields.

Ensuring Data Security for Our Users

Given the unique role drones play as data capture devices, we recognize the critical importance of data security for our commercial, civil, and government customers. To address this, we ensure that our users have full control over the data they generate. We reinforce this commitment by providing comprehensive information on how Zoarizon drone platforms safeguard customer data, and by detailing the strategies and processes we employ to continuously enhance information security.

Our approach includes robust encryption methods, secure data transmission protocols, and rigorous data storage practices to protect sensitive information from unauthorised access and breaches. We are dedicated to transparency, offering detailed documentation and support to help our customers understand the security measures in place.

Additionally, we implement regular updates and improvements to our security infrastructure, ensuring that our platforms remain resilient against emerging threats. Our commitment to data security extends beyond mere compliance, aiming to set industry standards and build trust with our users.

By prioritising data security and user control, we empower our customers to leverage drone technology confidently, knowing that their data is protected by industry-leading security practices.

Encrypting Data for Enhanced Security

Data transmitted between the drone and the ground controller is safeguarded by the AES-256 encryption algorithm, ensuring robust protection against unauthorised access. Additionally, communication between the Pilot app and the server is secured using HTTPS or WebSockets over SSL/TLS (WSS) protocol, effectively preventing hijacking by third parties.

These advanced encryption methods and secure communication protocols are integral to maintaining the integrity and confidentiality of the data exchanged during drone operations. By implementing these security measures, Zoarizon ensures that users’ data remains protected throughout the entire process, from drone to controller to app server.

Secure Media Storage for Devices

The DJI Mavic 2 Enterprise drones are equipped with a robust password protection mechanism designed to ensure the integrity and security of sensitive imagery and resources stored onboard. Moreover, the Matrice M300 / M350 RTK in conjunction with the Zenmuse H20 combo facilitates SD card storage encryption, further enhancing data security measures⁵. Activation of the password function mandates that access to data within the SD card or onboard storage is restricted solely to individuals who furnish the user-defined password. It is imperative to note that the user-defined password remains confidential, as it is not divulged to DJI. Consequently, in the event of password loss or forgetfulness, DJI is unable to retrieve or reset the password, thereby safeguarding the privacy and security of the user’s data.

Security Measures for Cloud Data Storage

Zoarizons data infrastructure is strategically established on two prominent cloud platforms, namely Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Google Cloud. AWS is employed as the primary platform, complemented by the utilization of Google Cloud services. This dual-platform approach enhances the resilience, scalability, and efficiency of Zoarizons’ data management operations, enabling the organization to leverage the strengths and features offered by each cloud platform to optimize its technological capabilities.

Zoarizon maintains complete autonomy over the storage of its data, as there is no obligation to delegate data management to DJI or any other third-party entities. However, should users choose to employ third-party data storage services, they can be assured that Zoarizon will implement a robust multi-layer protection mechanism to fortify your data.

Notably, Zoarizon adheres to stringent privacy protocols, refraining from transmitting users’ personal information or data between data centres, nor do they engage in the sharing of such data with third-party entities. In order to fortify the security of sensitive user information, including but not limited to email addresses, mobile numbers, and location data, Zoarizon employs an additional layer of encryption through the AES-256-CBC standard.

Security Audits Conducted by Third Parties

The veracity concerning drones and software systems has undergone rigorous scrutiny and validation by esteemed U.S. cybersecurity firms such as FTI Consulting, Booz Allen Hamilton, and Kivu Consulting. Additionally, U.S. federal agencies, including the Department of Defense, Department of the Interior, Department of Homeland Security, and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, have conducted thorough examinations, affirming the integrity of DJI’s technology. A summary of these assessments is available through this link.

It is inherent that drone technology, especially when deployed in sensitive or secure operations, faces intense scrutiny, akin to other technological products – a process that is both necessary and justified. As governmental bodies and enterprises establish security benchmarks for drone deployment, Zoarizons objective is to not only adhere to but also surpass these standards, thereby ensuring the highest levels of security and reliability.
